Gulf Coast
Association of
Creative Writing Teachers
Annual Conference

CONFERENCE CANCELLED: Fairhope, AL, March 13-14, 2020
Our Student Writing Award Winners can be found here & on our Facebook page.

The Gulf Coast Association of Creative Writing Teachers brings together teachers of writing, students, writers, editors, and publishers from Alabama, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas, and others from—or interested in— the Gulf Coast region and its writing.

The Gulf Coast Association of Creative Writing Teachers Conference has regrettably now been cancelled, due to restrictions on travel for many of our presenters. Those who registered and paid will receive refunds.

Our keynote presenter,  Carolyn Haines, the award-winning author of the Mississippi Delta Sarah Booth Delaney mystery series, and many other books, has assured us that she will come and speak in 2021.

We very much appreciate that those who paid in advance for the 2020 conference.  We have refunded all payments other than for the participatnts who asked that we hold them for 2021.

You can see the great program schedule that we had for this year.  And you can read what we had in the works for panels on the  2020 Panels page.

We will be communicating more via our Facebook Page and are looking at ways to share ideas and information through the year there and via this website.

Please sign up for our email list to receive conference announcements and our occasional newsletter.

You can see what we had planned and who was speaking at the now-cancelled conference here:
